Hager Intercom Outdoor
Software
Summary
On this hardware/software project, I supported the team in the UX/UI validation of the interface of a connected intercom, integrating facial recognition. My role was to verify graphic consistency, the behavior of micro-interactions, and to design the animations informing the user of the state of recognition.

Context
Product : Connected video intercom with touch screen and facial recognition
Company : Hager
Target users : Residents, visitors, installers
Challenges :
Ensure consistency between the device screens and the design system guidelines
Create a clear, smooth, and reassuring experience during facial recognition
Ensure intuitive handling for varied user profiles
Problems to solve
Discrepancies between the mockups and the final implementation on the device
Lack of visual feedback during facial recognition
Translation or terminology inconsistencies between language versions
Methodology
Research and Inspiration :
Study of competing intercom interfaces
Observation of real usage on pilot site
Ideation and Prototyping :
Definition of micro-interactions by scenario (successful recognition, failure, waiting)
Creation of simple and explicit animations with Lottie
Graphic harmonization with other Hager products
Collaboration & Tools :
Work on Figma and Lottie files
Functional reviews with developers and QA testers
Use of Lokalise for multilingual validation
Testing and Iterations :
Display and readability tests in outdoor conditions
User feedback during internal demonstrations
Results & Impact
Deliverables :
Validated screens with animated micro-interactions
Documented UX behaviors for development
Impact :
Better understanding of the system status for end users
Reduction of interaction errors and the need for assistance
Feedback :
A great opportunity to work at the intersection of industrial design and digital design, with a strong impact on tangible user experience.
