Vehicle central screen
Embedded software
Summary
I conducted a series of qualitative user tests to evaluate different interfaces embedded in a vehicle prototype. The aim was to validate comprehension, ease of use, and user preferences to guide design choices.
Context
Product : Prototype interface for central screen and dashboard
Company : Faurecia
Target users : Representative test drivers of everyday use
Issues :
Assess the effectiveness and intuitiveness of the proposed interfaces
Gather qualitative data in the concept phase
Identify user preferences among several options (A/B/C)
Problems to solve
Uncertainties about the clarity of the proposed pathways
Difficulty in predicting user behaviors without real testing
Need for user data to guide product choices
Methodology
Research and Inspiration :
Review of cognitive ergonomics principles in driving
Comparative analysis of competing embedded interfaces
Test Organization :
Writing scenarios and questionnaires
Selection of a diverse panel (age, experience, type of driving)
Conducting A/B/C tests with observation of behaviors
Analysis :
Compilation of verbatims and behavioral measures
Definition of recommendations by tested interface
Results & Impact
Deliverables :
Comprehensive analysis report
UX recommendations integrated into the final project
Impact :
Improvement in the fluidity of user journeys
Better adherence of target users to the proposed choices
Feedback :
A very educational project that strengthened my interest in user testing in a semi-controlled environment.
